A Treasure Trove of Costumes: Japan’s Leading Cosplayer Reveals Her Extensive Warehouse

Japan’s top-paid professional cosplayer, Enako showcases her huge collection of over 400 costumes in a new video.

Japan’s most popular cosplayer, Enako, revealed the inside of her room for cosplay which has over 400 costumes.

The 27-year-old professional model and cosplayer led the tour of her enormous “cosplay room” which is more like the size of a warehouse, in a brand new video uploaded to the Japanese Business Drive YouTube channel. While Enako hasn’t figured out the exact amount of costumes she’s collected, she estimates that she has anywhere from 400 to 500 costumes that she has worn to various conventions and photo shoots. To keep her vast collection of costumes organized, they should be stored neatly in clear plastic containers.

The film focuses on Enako’s experiences as a professional cosplayer. She explains the everyday activities of her profession and discusses the negatives of her job such as fighting online bullying and online trolling. She also stated that she’s a big admirer of Keisuke Itagaki’s underground combat series Baki the Grappler.

Enako started cosplaying in 2012 and is now so well recognized within the Japanese cosplay community and anime fandom that conventions and other events pay to have her appear. According to reports, she earns more than 90,000 dollars. She was a frequent guest at Comiket in Japan the largest anime convention. In 2019 hundreds of photographers came together to capture her REZero costume. Recently, she was recruited by a mobile gaming firm to play Attack of Titan‘s Mikasa Ackerman. In addition to her cosplaying career, she also has gained followers through her online game streams which she is often playing multiplayer shooters like Apex Legends and Rainbow Six Siege.

Even though many conventions have had to be removed or relocated online during the past two years because of the ongoing COVID-19 virus that has spread across the world, talented cosplayers all over the world have been able to create stunning costumes. Another Japanese cosplayer Chiba_2_2 showed off their exact screen capture of Tokyo Revenger Manjiro Sante. Jahara Jade, the creator of the content, was able to cosplay all nine Sailor Moon scouts within a single year. Enako isn’t the only professional model cosplaying as fitness model Momo Tomomoto has recently shown her admiration for Jujutsu Kaisen‘s Cursed weapon specialist, Maki Zen’in by wearing two new costumes.
