In this magic-infused cosplay of Scarlet Witch, a Marvel fan is ahead of Doctor Strange from the Multiverse of Madness.
Marvel fan and cosplayer Caitlin Christine shared photos of her impressive Marvel Cinematic Universe cosplay on Twitter. The outfit was inspired by the character of Wanda Maximoff in Doctor Strange. The Scarlet Witch’s abilities are fully displayed as she levitates down a damaged hallway, conjuring magical energy bolts and meditating on the esoteric mysteries found in the text called the Darkhold.

This cosplay of Scarlet Witch’s outfit is astonishingly accurate in comparison to her MCU wardrobe. Christine recreates Maximoff’s most recent appearance, wearing red leather and fabric from head to top. The props, such as the candles and the Darkhold, capture Maximoff’s shift from being a psionic powerhouse into her current form as a mystical practitioner. The special effects tie everything together through windows that have been smashed by the power of her and swirling wisps of the residual magic, and the power of chaos that is at her fingertips.
Maximoff’s history, origins, and appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe early on differ from her comic-book origins as a mutant who wields a hex. Hydra carried out tests that granted Maximoff and her brother Pietro Maximoff their powers. These experiments involved exposing the young pair to the Mind Stone that led to her rapid development of mental abilities, such as Telekinesis, telepathy, and various levels of manipulation of the mind.

The pain of losing Vision in Avengers: Infinity War resulted in an explosion in her powers. Through the events of WandaVision, the character is shown manipulating the space of reality according to her wishes and imagination. As this reality-warping escalates the revelation is made that her family members possess an innate magical power and that the exposure to the Mind Stone has increased its ability significantly. Culminating in a one-on-one battle against fellow witch Agatha Harkness, she transforms into the mythical Scarlet Witch.
She takes the Darkhold along with her and begins to learn the art of magic. Scarlet Witch, or at least this version, is a fully-realized practitioner in the mysterious arts and an expert in chaos magic. She seems to be more in control over her powers. Doctor Strange will seek out her assistance in the coming film, which will force the Sorcerer Supreme and Scarlet Witch to confront different versions of themselves, as well as other threats within the Multiverse.
Scarlet Witch, played by Olsen who plays Olsen, will be appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. The film is set to release on May 6, 2022.
