Stranger Things: The First Shadow is one of many projects that are designed to keep the franchise alive after the release of the original Netflix series’s fifth and final season. Many viewers have expressed their desire to see Stranger Thingsto continue beyond Season five. However, a majority of the cast members do not agree. Finn Wolfhard, Mike Wheeler’s actor, claimed that it was absurd to extend the Stranger Thingsits storyline beyond the five seasons of the show in a recent interview. Wolfhard added that he trusted the co-creators of the show Matt and Ross Duffer to deliver “a perfect ending” in Season 5.
Stranger Things Stars Discuss the show’s Future
Wolfhard’s co-star David Habour is also firmly in favor of Stranger Things wrapping up after five seasons. Harbor the actor who plays Jim Hopper, recently insisted that the show’s sci-fi/horror series needed to be ended so that the Duffers could focus on other projects. “[I want] to let the Duffer Brothers try different things as well,” he said. “It’s incredible how talented these individuals are. I want to know what they can come up with next.” However, Harbour also admitted that filming Stranger ThingsSeason 5 will be a “very bittersweet” experience.
The Duffers will not be turning their back to Stranger Things entirely once the main series is over, however. They already have an idea for a Stranger Thingsspinoff, which Wolfhard famously predicted. In an interview with the media, the actor recalled Duffer’s reaction of panic after Wolfhard guessed the future of the franchise. “[They] were like”That’s the plan to spin off the franchise. Who was the first to tell you that?’ I was like, “No one ‘…” and they were like, “Okay, well…don’t tell anyone,” Wolfhard replied.
