Recent reports confirm that TT Games has canceled a few projects. However, its current focus is on a new LEGO Harry Potter game.
TT Games has held almost total control of the LEGO video games market for the past two decades. They have released countless licensed titles, from LEGO Star Wars to LEGO Batman and just about every other title in between. The most recent release by TT Games was 2022’s LEGO Star Wars Saga. This title opened the door to, a new era of large-scale, open-world LEGO titles. It seems that the studio is already working on its next game, a large-scale title based on the Harry Potter series.
A recent Nintendo Life report has confirmed that a few projects at TT Games were canceled. a LEGO Harry Potter video game in a similar vein as The Skywalker Saga survived the cull. Although some of these projects were very promising, it is easy to see that TT Games may have had too few resources. It seems smarter to concentrate on a new LEGO Harry Potter video game right now.

TT Games is smart to focus on Harry Potter right now
According to Nintendo Life, four high-profile projects were recently canceled at TT Games. The four big-profile projects that were canceled include the LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy video game, which was said to have been in development for 18 months, a mobile version of LEGO Worlds. This non-LEGO shooter will feature a lot of Warner Bros. characters and a Diablo-like Disney game featuring characters from throughout the company’s history. The report also states that a new LEGO Batman video game and a Mandalorian narrative content DLC for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga have been put on hold.
Although there may have been many reasons for these cancellations, Nintendo Life claims that the main reason was to increase resources for the development of, a new LEGO Harry Potter title. Although Nintendo Life’s report does not provide much information about this game, it does say that it is being developed on a scale similar to The Skywalker Saga. This could mean multiple open-world hubs and missions that span across the entire franchise as well as hundreds of playable characters.
It is probably a smart decision to invest all of the studio’s resources in a new LEGO Harry Potter video game. Despite the controversy surrounding it, the Hogwarts Heritage has sold over 12,000,000 copies within its first two weeks. It has continued to sell extremely well ever since. The Harry Potter IP remains incredibly lucrative. Warner Bros. will want to make as much money as possible from this success, which could mean that they put pressure on TT Games for a LEGO Harry Potter video game.
While these cancellations could be due to a desire for the latest trends, TT Games isn’t interested in that. The studio will likely put all its heart and soul into making the best LEGO Harry Potter games. TT Games had released a few behind-the-scenes videos before LEGO Star Wars was released. Each one revealed the passion of the team for the Star Wars IP. This is a big reason The Skywalker Saga was so enjoyable to play. It was a game that was built by fans for fans. Fans can rest assured that the team behind this LEGO Harry Potter is as passionate as TT Games.
