Super Mario Bros. Movie release is sooner than expected, but not much to the dismay of Nintendo fans who cannot wait.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie release date has been moved up by a few more days. Universal Pictures announced the change in release date a few days before the movie was due to be released. This will likely affect the US and 60 other countries.
Mario was created in 1981 by Shigeru Miyamoto to be the Nintendo mascot. Super Mario Bros. has had a lot of adventures, from animated features to comic adaptations to live-action movies in the ’90s. Nintendo announced an animated Super Mario movie with Despicable ME makers Illumination Studios in 2018, to great fanfare.
After the Super Mario Bros. Movie release dates were set for a 2022 release, Nintendo pushed the release date forward to 2023. The film will be released in the United States and other international markets on April 7. An announcement by the official Twitter account of the movie has changed the scheduled release date from April 7th to April 5th, moving the movie ahead by two days to a Wednesday premiere. “Wahoo! The #SuperMarioMovie moves from April 7 to Apr 5 in the USA and more than 60 other countries. In addition to the US, additional markets will release the movie in May and April. Japan will debut it on April 28.
The tweet did not include any explanations or additional information. However, some speculate that the move was intended to maintain parity in markets so spoilers can be managed and to have a uniform release. The company has cut two days off what was a five-year wait, and fans responded to this tweet to express excitement. Although the Super Mario Bros. Movie reportedly has a brief runtime by animation standards, fans are excited about it, as they are more than the average target audience for animated films like this.
While there were some concerns about the Super Mario Bros. Movie beginning, such as the inability to reach the beloved voice of Mario Charles Martinet, the film appears to be receiving a warm reception from all demographics.
